After leaving the haunted plantation, I drove to San Francisco Plantation. When you pull up to the plantation property, you think to yourself that it is going to be a dump. It is surrounded by a Marathon refinery, which has consumed the former plantation acreage. However, the plantation house is the most stunning I have ever seen. I’ve included a picture of the house itself. After driving back to New Orleans, I arrived at the Maison Dupuy Hotel in the French Quarter. The picture is one I took from my balcony window. It was at that moment that I received a text from a friend of mine, Michelle. He daughter, who I have known since the day of her birth, lost her husband and two children in an automobile accident that very day. A semi truck crossed the center median and hit their car head-on. I called the airline but they were booked solid that day, and already had stand-by lists for the flights. They got me on the earliest flight the next morning. Since I was stuck In New Orleans and had reservations for a steamboat dinner cruise with a jazz band for entertainment, I decided to make my way down to the French Market to shop and then do the cruise. I’ve included a picture of me taking in some of the local culture. Dinner was good, band so-so, but it was cold out on the river. This morning I made my way to the airport and back home again. I have availed myself to my friend to be of any assistance that I can offer. At this point, all I can do is be ready to help, if and when they need it.
