I have suffered with allergies all my life. In fact, I take allergy meds daily, take shots monthly, and just lay waiting for a good hard freeze so that the evil pollen monster will die. So I go to Louisiana down to the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area. My first morning there, a little left over allergy thing, but afterwards nothing. Now bear in mind, I am driving through an area populated with more trees per square inch then should be legally allowed. They are all blooming out, and there is ragweed blooming along the highway. I am just fine. I come back to Oklahoma yesterday morning and by the afternoon, I am hacking and coughing. This morning, I am back to my medication ritual. Living in Oklahoma requires incredible stubbornness. You really have to love something or someone that is here to live in a state where if the air isn’t trying to choke you to death, then every spring and fall it comes along, picks up you and your house and flings you for distance!
